Beef Chuck Steak

Beef chuck has a great balance of meat and fat, making it ideal for slow cooking over low heat. A great winter warmer, this cut is perfect for casseroles or stews with quite a savoury flavour, which can be easily influenced by aromatic pairings in a dish.

Cooking Instructions

BBQ Beef Chuck Steak (Indirect, Slow Cook)
Preheat BBQ to low heat (~120–140°C / 250–275°F).
Place steak on indirect heat.
Cook for 2–3 hours, turning occasionally, until tender.
Rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.

Pan/Braising Beef Chuck Steak
Preheat a heavy pan or oven to 160–170°C (320–340°F).
Sear steak in a hot pan for 2–3 minutes per side.
Add a little liquid (stock, water, or wine), cover, and cook 2–3 hours until tender.
Rest for 5–10 minutes before serving.
